Born in Greece in 1973, Vincent Dutreuil spent his childhood in southeastern France. In high school he studied the applied arts, and following his graduation he moved on to the Saint-Luc Institute in Brussels, where he stayed for three years, participating in the creation of the independent initiative La 5e couche (The 5th Layer), through which he took part in various expositions. Upon leaving Saint-Luc, he pursued his studies at the Fine Arts School of Saint-Etienne (France). Alongside his graphic design and illustration work, he soon met Belgian writer François Maingoval, and together they undertook their first professional series, Ada Enigma (Glénat). Wanting to vary his style and approach, Dutreuil then published a two-part fable titled Racines (Glénat), which he also wrote, followed by the historical crime drama Kaze (La boîte à bulles) and the sci-fi series Animal Wars Comics, which he got off the ground through crowdfunding. His most recent work includes a pair of sports series with Dupuis: Olympique Lyonnais, centered on the prestigious soccer club, and the new season of Michel Vaillant (Europe Comics in English), bringing to life the legendary race car driver created by Jean Graton.
